End of Year Performances!

BTS laughter, friendships, excitement and energy!

Our 2018 end of year performances were incredible fun!  We held 3 performances in December (one for each age group, Preschool, Juniors - Kindy to Year 3 and Seniors - Year 4 through to High School), each performance had a different tale to tell and all showcased the wonderful talents of our actors, singers, dancers and acrobat’s.  The feedback has been overwhelming but the best part is seeing each child’s face light up as they enter the stage, some rearing to go and some overcoming fears but all giving it their best once they hit the bright lights.

Well done to all our students, teachers, backstage staff and huge thanks to NBD parents, we couldn’t achieve such an awesome result without this wonderful team of people.

Royal Academy of Dance

Congratulations to NBD Royal Academy of Dance Ballet students who sat their examination in November and all passed with awesome results.

Sitting a RAD Ballet Examination is optional at NBD and our fully qualified RAD Ballet teachers adore helping our students reach their goals, we are very proud of the dedication and efforts shown in the lead up to the examinations.

If you are interested in your child trying a ballet class get in touch, it’s never too late to start, we offer trial lessons prior to committing to a full term and you can choose from classes suitable for Kindy’s through to High School.

For our preschool age students check our preschool page to see all the information on the adorable Ready Set Ballet program we offer.

You can read more about the RAD here: https://www.rad.org.au/about/about-the-rad

Flash Mob!

Huge thanks to Neutral Bay Public School for having us organise a flash mob at their Spring Carnival!  The event was incredible, rides, stalls and enormous family fun all themed around a county fair, we loved bringing together over 80 dancers to surprise the crowd.

On Set!

NBD Ballet students on the set for Australian feature film ‘Hearts and Bones’ which is due for release in 2019!  An awesome experience for our young dancers to be extra’s on the film, playing the part of students in a ballet class.  Lucky they have all had lots of practise doing that!

NBD MID YEAR PERFORMANCES

We are hugely excited about our upcoming performances!

At the end of term 2 we hold an informal performance for family and friends, it is a great opportunity for our students to show what they have been learning and also to see and support other students efforts.

Our mid year performances came about 10 years ago when our contemporary teacher Miss Dale was keen to organise a fundraiser for her favourite charity, Monika's Doggie Rescue.  Her huge passion for doggies inspired us to keep going and each year we invite audience members to attend free of charge, instead we ask for a gold coin donation for Monika's.  They run solely on donations and do a wonderful job finding forever homes for dogs.  You can read more about Monika's here www.doggierescue.com

Smiles, fun, family and friends is what it is all about, above you can take a look at our clip from 2017.  We can't wait to do it again!

Dance Step Student Teacher Education!

We are very excited to be a registered affiliate studio and member of the DanceStep program! Offered in partnership with studio teachers, DanceStep empowers students to take care of others and guides them to be leaders and role models. The program covers assistant teaching skills such as behaviour management, different learning needs and styles, Safe Dance Principles and Anatomy to name just a few. These concepts are broken down to be taught in a sequential and age appropriate way to children from eleven years of age.

With the inclusion of DanceStep at Neutral Bay School of Dance our young dancers have a framework where they can contribute to the community in a positive way.  As affiliate members of the DanceStep program it is wonderful for us to be able to provide this opportunity for our dancers to flourish not only as young people, but to also watch them grow into competent and confident assistant teachers and student leaders.

Public Performances!

Take a look at our High School age Performance Group dancing at the Children's Festival at First Fleet Park, The Rocks, Sydney.

Our dancers learnt a variety show that includes singing, dance, acrobatics, costume changes and professionally edited music - it is hugely entertaining and their first performance was incredibly well received by the public and the organisers.

Under the motto “Play Together and Live in Harmony”  the festival is unique in its celebration of cultural diversity and the weekend was filled with a spectacular non-stop entertainment program performed by over 30 groups from different cultural backgrounds and attended by many thousand children and their families.
