From classical ballet to jazz, we have classes to suit all interests! Scroll down to see our timetable and find out more about the classes we offer.

Fitness, fun, and friends are just three things that students will experience in their high school years with Neutral Bay School of Dance. Older students will begin to shine like the stars they were born to be as they develop their on-stage and performance skills, along with their technical level through carefully programmed classes.
Each class is designed to shape a dancer into the best version of themselves, while teaching important skills and mindsets like confidence, creativity, and reaching their goals.
Our students improve their musicality, co-ordination, confidence, friendship-building, memorisation and fitness.
And they'll have experienced, loving teachers to guide them throughout their journey!

* Must take 3 ballet classes per week

** Auditions for Senior Performance Team December 1, students must also take Jazz + Technique class to be eligible. Ballet is highly recommended.

*** Recommended for all Jazz and Lyrical Contemporary students

**** Can be taken as a single ballet class or in combination with Intermediate Ballet

The comprehensive Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) classical ballet syllabus is taught by our highly qualified teachers. It provides a great foundation for all styles of dance improving flexibility, core strength, grace and posture.  The R.A.D syllabus engages children through the creative exercises and our students attend class for fun and fitness or from 7 years of age have the opportunity to enter R.A.D  Class Awards (Year 2 to 5 at school) or Examinations (from Year 7 at school).

Lyrical Contemporary is the perfect class for those who wish to combine their love of classical ballet with modern dance. Featuring controlled, fluid movements and expressive routines, this class allows for personal expression taught in a fun and playful way. Lyrical Contemporary students are encouraged to also enrol into a Technique class and / or Ballet class where they will build on the foundations of dance.

Jazz Performance Teams from Year 2 to High School are selected by invitation or audition and will perform at the NBD mid year and end of year performances, local eisteddfods and community events.  Please enquire for more information. Click here to learn more about our Performance Teams.

One of the fundamentals of dance, jazz is forever changing to suit today's world. From pop hits to Broadway show stoppers, this versatile style not only develops great dancers but boosts each student's creativity, confidence and ability to retain information.  At NBD we follow the progressive International Dance Technique syllabus and teach fun, energetic and age appropriate routines to pop and children's songs with a great beat!  Students Year 4 and over are encouraged to also enrol into a technique class where they will build on the foundations of dance.

Technique is essential in ensuring the ongoing success of any dancer.  Recommended for students Year 4 and over who are taking jazz or lyrical contemporary. We teach the International Dance Technique syllabus, IDT includes progressive stretch exercises and age appropriate conditioning exercises to strengthen muscles, increase agility, control and power in dance combos. The syllabus progressively trains all relevant Kick, Turn and Jump techniques.  This myriad of dance basics enables greater expression and freedom of movement.
